Hearing aids are like advanced personal hearing computers. These fully digital hearing aids offer great fitting capabilities and automatically adjust to sounds and speech. Our hearing care professionals are fully trained to work with you to select the most appropriate product based on your hearing loss, your lifestyle and your budget. They can fit any product from the most basic to the most technologically advanced hearing aid.
The following is a description of some of the products and technologies offered at our centres:
Completely-In-the-Canal (CIC) Technology.
These hearing aids are designed to fit entirely within the ear canal, and are custom-made to fit the ear canal.
In-The-Canal (ITC) Technology
ITC hearing aids are custom-built to fit almost completely within the ear canal.
In-The-Ear (ITE) Technology
ITEs are custom hearing aids that fit in the outer ear bowl.
Behind-The-Ear (BTE) Technology
As the name implies, these hearing aids are worn behind the ear and require a custom ear mould.
These hearing aids typically consist of small housing that sits behind the ear, with a very fine, clear tube running over the top of the ear, into the ear. This results in an open design with a “plugging” of the ear
Receiver-In-Canal/Receiver-In-The-Ear (RIC/RITE) Technology.
With these hearings aids, the speaker/receiver is placed inside the user’s ear canal, reducing the size of the housing behind the ear. RICs/RITEs are considered the most discrete and aesthetically pleasing of all hearing aids.
